Sadly, there can be much arrogance substituted for real faith in the virus problem today.
True faith comes when we hear from God individually concerning the matter at hand.
Many are showing a type of fleshly pride in saying God will not allow themselves to be hurt in this current virus problem.
We pray and ask God for protection ... then we follow that which is spoken to us in the matter at hand ...
These people I've been hearing, show no basis other than religious pride in their statements, being recorded in the news programs which I have heard, concerning what will happen or will not happen to themselves. And they often go forth in a form of fleshly pride which greatly concerns me for I do not witness a true Spirit operating in them when I've heard them say the things they are saying.
There has been an absence of godly humility, thus showing others a form of stubbornness and faith in themselves, which they think witnesses God, but is actually harmful to all.
I've witnessed this false faith many times in church member's statements through the past decades.
It is only when God gives us a word on the situation at hand that we can operate in "true" faith.

This was a specific word to Abraham:
Genesis 12:1 Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

Word to me from God in 1982:
"Don't go until you see Exodus 15."

Word from God to me in 2018 as ambulance workers were taking me to hospital after an accident at my house in Texas.
"You'll never see this house again."

Word from God to Pam Padgett in 1980's as she sat in the church she was attending:
"What are you doing here? I've told you to get out. Now get out."

Word from God to John Rodgers as he considered building an additional storage building to store his stuff.
"Why don't you just get rid of the stuff?"

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Many church goers are proudly saying what God will or will not do without hearing a Word from God on the issue at hand.
Their "faith" is a pride and arrogance coming from their fleshly mind.
I've heard individuals speak such things at church many times.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
It is that "word" spoken to us by the Spirit of God that is God speaking on the issue at hand.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Concerning that which the Holy Spirit does:
I Corinthians 2
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

It is not that doctrine of man that we speak but it is the actual word given to us by God that we speak.

We pray, and then if God chooses to speak a word to us by HIS Spirit to lead us in what to do, we stand on "that word" that is spoken to us by the Spirit.

An example:
The "Spirit" forbad them to speak in Asia at one point in the life of the apostle Paul.
Acts 16
5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
6 Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
7 After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
8 And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
We can't live by generalities. We live by "specific" words spoken to us individually by the Spirit of God who is in us.
