* Buried with Christ. Raised with Christ.

Dead to sin and alive to God, after we are born again.  We are created as new creatures by the Spirit of God after we believe the Word of God.  Nothing equals this.  Nothing we can obtain or attain to on this earth can equal being born again and having the Spirit of God in us.  All Christians are sealed with the Spirit of God after they believe, according to Ephesians 1.  This Podcasts shows moments in life with the Spirit of God.

When I was baptized in water the second time after being born again.

As the minister lowered me into the water, the Holy Spirit said to me:

"This is like being buried with Christ."

As I came out of the water, the Holy Spirit said to me:

"This is like being raised with Christ."

Romans 6

1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into HIS death?

4 Therefore we are buried with HIM by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of HIS death, we shall be also in the likeness of HIS resurrection:

6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with HIM, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with HIM:

9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over HIM.

10 For in that HE died, HE died unto sin once: but in that HE liveth, HE liveth unto God.

11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Philippians 2

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, HE humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Ephesians 4:29   Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

I Corinthians 10:13   There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

* Dealing with the idols in the churches today.

The New Testament church began with the resurrection of Jesus.  Jesus called HIS ministers: "apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers."

Paul is an example of one of the first of these New Testament church ministers appointed to the church after Jesus arose.  (Ephesians 4:11-12)

Idols were added to the churches as something for the people to use in worship, much as the golden calves were used as idols in the Old Testament for the people to worship.

So ministers were set up by men to be worshipped and they were called, "Reverend", priests, pope, archbishop, cardinal, and such, none of which were in the New Testament Bible.

("Priest" is Old Testament.  No minister in New Testament church in the NT Bible is called "priest.")

People were also taught many things to do at church which were not in the New Testament Bible.

And we have what we see today in churches.  All manner of idols.

God will strongly deal with these idols when Jesus returns.  In the meantime, we who are of God, must turn from idols in today's New Testament churches.

First, we have to learn to recognize these idols.

Please listen to this Podcast.

* Ministers who allow themselves to be called "Reverend".

There is only one time the word "Reverend" appears in the Bible.

Psalm 111:9   HE (God) sent redemption unto HIS people: HE hath commanded HIS covenant for ever: holy and reverend is HIS name.

***

In the New Testament Bible, ministers of the New Testament church are called:  apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.

Ephesians 4:11-12   And HE (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;   For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Paul called himself apostle, preacher, and teacher.

I Corinthians 1:1    Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

Paul introduced himself in almost each of his letters to the churches as being "an apostle".

***

Peter said he was an apostle and elder.  We see this in the New Testament Bible.

I Peter 1:1     Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

II Peter 1:1   Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

I Peter 5:1   The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

It was a requirement in the Bible that an elder (also called bishop) be married, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, whereby showing they are capable of caring for the church.  Titus 1

***

In the book of Acts, we see Philip was an evangelist.

Acts 21:8-9   And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.   And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

***

In the New Testament Bible, we see examples of New Testament prophets:

Acts 11:27-28   And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.  And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

Acts 21:10-11   And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.   And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

Paul often travelled with a prophet:

Acts 15:32   And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them.

Acts 15:40   And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God.

***

Paul was an example of a teacher, as well as an apostle and preacher.

II Timothy 1:11   Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

***

Paul identified Timothy as an evangelist:

II Timothy 4:5   But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

*****

If any man comes calling himself pope, archbishop, cardinal, minister of music, Father, Reverend, Priest or anything else, ask that man to take a New Testament Bible and show you that which he is calling himself.  He will not be able to show that from the New Testament Bible.

If that name is not in New Testament Bible, then it is an "idol" set up by man for the church.

And the church does greatly worship the men calling themselves "Reverend."  This is a great idol in the New Testament church, and it should not be happening.

We should refuse to call men these things which are not in the New Testament Bible.

*****

We are to worship God today in spirit and in truth:

John 4

The woman at Samaria was talking to Jesus and she said:

19 Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship HIM.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship HIM must worship HIM in spirit and in truth.

At the time of sexual intercourse the two people become one flesh even if the sex is with a prostitute.

I Corinthians 6

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith HE, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Other idols in religious groups today:

* Crossing yourself

* Holy Water

* Lighting candles in religious context.

* Music when used as "entertainment" to set moods for the congregation.

* The joy of the Lord is your strength.

The Internet went off a few days ago and it was like life as I know it ended.  What would I do all day?  Then I remembered to pray, "Lord, please fill my day!"  I thought of how terrible it will be in the days of the great tribulation when these things that run our lives disappear.  Those on this earth will be frantic.

A few days later, I awoke and was praying, "God, please fill my day with joy."  And I heard, "The joy of the Lord is your strength!"

The Lord is The Word.  When the Holy Spirit brings us a word, that "Word"  is joy and strength and comfort and peace.

The joy of that WORD which we hear from God is our strength to do the will of God.

Examples of the Joy of the Lord.

*****

When we are afraid, God settles us and shows us truth by that which HE brings to our mind by HIS Spirit, the Spirit of Jesus.  The joy of the Lord is our strength, that Word which comes to us by HIS Spirit is our strength.

The Holy Spirit of Jesus is the Comforter:

John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Spirit of Jesus is the Spirit of Truth:

John 16:13   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Jesus says:

Acts 1:8   But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto ME both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Yielding to the Holy Spirit to speak that brought to your mind by the Holy Spirit of Jesus:

In visiting with my mother, I heard to speak Deuteronomy 18 to my mother.  I took a Bible and began reading this to her.

9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.

11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

13 Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

My mother agreed that we should not do these things any more.  With that, my mother was born again.

Word from Holy Spirit to me:  "Be baptized."

As minister lowered me into the water, the Holy Spirit said to me:  "This is like being buried with Christ."

When I come out of the water, the Holy Spirit said to me:  "This is like being raised with Christ."

The Holy Spirit of Jesus was preaching Romans 6 to me, which I did not know at that time.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth.

All believers are sealed with the Holy Spirit of Jesus:

Ephesians 1:13   In Whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in Whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Many times throughout our lives, God will cause the Holy Spirit of Jesus to bring a thought to our minds to comfort us, and give us joy, and give us direction, and show us truth.

***

The Holy Spirit searches the heart of God for the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and knows the will of God in all things and shows that will of God to us so we can go in the way and joy of God as we live on this earth.

I Corinthians 2

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by HIS Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Jesus said:

John 6

33 For the bread of God is HE which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Jesus, The Word, comes down from heaven to us today by HIS Spirit who brings the Word to our minds in specific moments of this life to show us the way of God in the matter at hand.

35 And Jesus said unto them, I (the Word) am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

(Believing on that Word which is brought to us by the Holy Spirit.)

48 I am that bread of life.

51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven:

53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.

63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

The Spirit of Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter ... brings thoughts from Jesus to our minds to help us.

Examples:

* The Birthday Card ... "Ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God."

Colossians 3:

1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with HIM in glory.

James 3:17   But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

James 1:17   Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

December 6, 2018 ... accident ... crawling from hallway to area where phone is located ... broken hip and broken hand.

I heard a word from the Spirit of God:

"You can do this."

This word which I believe to be from God by HIS Spirit gave me the strength to keep crawling 1/4 inch at a time for 4 1/2 hours to reach phone.  Without that word, I believe I would have died in that hallway.

January 2020 ... Word, "Podcast" ... followed a few days later by dream confirming Podcasts as the direction to go.

Dream:  I opened my front door and kittens were everywhere ... On left side and right side of door ... just waiting to be fed.  Some were starving.  All the kittens were pure white except for one kitten which had tinges of yellow in it's fur.  I went into my garage and kittens were also in the garage.  "How can I care for all these kittens?"

When I awakened, I was troubled and asked God:  "What does this mean?"

The Holy Spirit answered by giving me the thought:  "Baby Christians."

I knew then God was confirming that the way for me to go was to exhort the church on Podcasts.

God leads us by HIS Spirit by calling scripture to our minds, by Word brought to our minds, and by dreams.

(This is not recorded but is very edifying for us.)

When we go in the way of God the following happens:

Isaiah 55

11 So shall MY word be that goeth forth out of MY mouth: it shall not return unto ME void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

* Staying on the Highway of God.

God has a road for each of us to take!  We drive onto that road when we hear a word from the Holy Spirit of God and do that instruction.  And we stay on that road by continuing to do that instruction.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.  Romans 8:14

Examples are given in this podcast.

The Holy Spirit of Jesus who lives in the believer to guide the believer:

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

***

God said to me:

"One step at a time ... one step at a time ... it is enough."

Driving onto the highway of God.

We drive onto "that" highway which God assigns to us when we do that instruction which is given us by God following a concept or a scripture or a dream given by God.

* My assignment, my "highway", given me by God at this point in time:

- A word: Podcast
- Dream: Feed kittens (church ... many are starving)
- Scripture: Exhort one another and do this even more as you see the day of the Lord approaching.  (Heb. 10:25)

These 3 words keep me on the right road at this point in my life.

The devil tries to get us to do opposite to that which God has shown us to do.  Sometimes we stall at the side of the road.  Then we have to pull back onto the highway and start going forward again and we do this when we focus on the words God gave us to first put us on that highway.  So we need to keep "those words" before us and allow them to propel us as we go down God's road for us.

* I don't do works of God unless God shows me to do that work.

When God authors a work of God, I've always found the money is there do to that work.  I do not do works from my own ideas or my own conjurings.  I have to hear from God to do that work before I do that work.

In the day of judgment there will be a very severe penalty upon those persons who come saying they have done a work when that work was not authored by God.  (see: Matthew 7:21-23)

Therefore we must be very careful to see that those works we do for God on this present earth are actually authored by God.

*****

The day of judgment comes upon this world and the church and each of us will be required to appear before the judgment seat of Christ, as Paul explains.

II Corinthians 5:10   For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

The current church world, as we know it today, doesn't seem to realize there will be a judgment seat of Christ where we answer for that which we have done on this earth and where each of us will appear before God and be judged by the Word of God.

But there is.

And Jesus says:

Matthew 7:21-23   Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

***

We have to be assigned by God that which we do on this earth.  If we try to do something thinking it "good", while it is by our own will and our own thinking, we could be turned away for all eternity at the judgment seat of Christ.  Jesus said "many" would be turned away.

Jesus also told us "few" would find the way of life.

Matthew 7:13-14   Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

The way we go on this earth must be authored by God by HIS Spirit.  And when we do that diligently and wholly, we walk in the light of God.  We can't follow after the things that men say is good or that churches approve, but only that which God shows us by HIS Spirit.

We examine that which we do by the following:

Did God tell me to do that?

*  1980 God put me on radio by blowing 3 trumpet-like words into my ear:  It was in the night while I was sleeping and it was very loud,  like a trumpet blowing words, and I heard the following:  "Hartford, Seattle, KWJS"  (As a result, I went on radio starting with KWJS.  Within a year I was on radio from Hartford to Seattle.)

*  March 2012,  God put me on Internet by showing me what to do in a dream:  By that shown me in a dream I knew to start a blog on Internet.  Within about 3 days of the dream, we were publishing exhortations daily to the church around the world on Internet.

*  2015, through a series of thoughts brought to me by the Holy Spirit, I began writing ministry books on Amazon.

*  December 6, 2018, I fell at my house in Texas and as the ambulance workers rolled the gurney past the front door, I heard the following words from the Holy Spirit:  "You'll never see this house again."  As a result I put the house in Texas up for sale and moved directly from the rehabilitation hospital to Colorado where I am still living.

*  October/November 2019, the Holy Spirit spoke the following to me:  "Read the Old Testament"
The Holy Spirit usually speaks in a gentle thought brought to our minds.  Sometimes it is so gentle we are barely aware of the thought.  The first time the Holy Spirit spoke this to me telling me to read the old testament it was this way.  A day or so later, the Holy Spirit spoke this thought a second time, "Read the Old Testament."  I like the Old Testament and thought that is a good idea.  Then a third time, still in a gentle thought, I heard, "Read the Old Testament."  I began reading at Genesis 1.  God began allowing me to see and I decided I needed to share this with our church group.  Then I decided to put it on our blog.  Then I decided to write it into a book on Amazon.  And when I began writing, I realized this was going to be a volume of books on Amazon.  The Holy Spirit guides us in all truth.  John 16:13 ... one step at a time!  But first we take the first step.

*January 2020:  God gave the word "Podcast" to Pam Padgett.  At that time, I had been praying about going back on radio. When Pam told me what God had brought to her attention and when Pam explained to me what a "Podcast" is, I told her she'd better look into that.

When we obtained information about Podcasts, we decided that was a better way to go than radio.

There are several advantages to Podcasts
:

*There are hardly any expenses at all for Podcasts.  Whereas radio is relatively expensive.
*Podcasts go all over the entire world.  Radio is limited to that single radio station in that one area of the country.
*Podcasts are a complete library of audio messages and the listener can choose which message he wants to hear and all messages are available to the listener.  Radio is a one time shot.
*On Podcasts, the recording time is unlimited, so the message could be any length and the length is dictated by the time needed to present the message.

Podcasts are very good ways to present messages from God in audio form.

We purchased the necessary equipment for the recordings and I began to make recordings.

Then God gave me a confirmation dream for the Podcast work:  In this dream, March, 2020, I opened my front door at my house and kittens were everywhere.  They were piled up on the left side of the door.  They were on the right side also.  They were pure white, except for one kitten which had a tinge of yellow. (polluted)  Some were near death.  They were waiting there at my door, needing to be fed.  Some were at the point of death, starving.  They were also in my garage.

The next morning after this dream, I asked God, "What does this dream mean?  How can I handle all these starving kittens?"

I heard, "Baby Christians."

I then knew I was to feed them on the Podcasts.

John 16:13   Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Romans 8:14   For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Basis for all things:

James 1:5    If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Planning for future:

Proverbs 3

5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and HE shall direct thy paths.

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

Reevaluating goals:

I Timothy 6

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Remove yourselves from those persons who consider "gain" to be a sign of godliness.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich
(if you set your goal for money) fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

You can't be out of control with your life and live like the people of this world and expect God to bless you.  If we live like this world lives, we can expect to go down as this world goes down.

Bringing blessings upon yourself:

Deuteronomy 28

1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

7 The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and HE shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

9 The Lord shall establish thee an holy people unto Himself, as HE hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, and walk in HIS ways.

10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee.

11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 The Lord shall open unto thee HIS good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
