* Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2)


 

Focus on what the New Testament Bible says concerning the matter at hand.  We renew our minds to the Bible rather than considering that which people say about the subject.  

The Bible is truth from God. 

Concerning sexual intercourse:  At the time of sexual intercourse the two become one flesh.

Paul warns the men of his time:  I Corinthians 6   Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.  16  What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith HE, shall be one flesh.  17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18  Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.


Notice that Paul says sexual sins are unlike all other sins.  Verse 18:  Sexual sins are sins against your own body.

In I Corinthians 6, the apostle Paul also warns about other sins:  And Paul says they that do such sins will not inherit the kingdom of God.  

9  Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (homosexuals), nor abusers of themselves with mankind,  10  Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.


Christians are baptized unto the death of Christ that they might walk in newness of life serving God.  (Romans 6)

God gives each of us HIS own spirit to show us what to do on this present earth.  (John 14:26 & John 16:13)

And we have the New Testament Bible to confirm to us rules of God and the will of God.

II Timothy 3:16-17   All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

So we renew our minds to the scriptures, seeing the will of God for us.  We establish our way by scripture, building our house on that which God says as we walk on this present earth.

Divorce/remarriage:

I Corinthians 7:10-11   And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:  But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

Romans 7:1-3   Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?  For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.  So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

Matthew 5:32   But I say unto you (says Jesus), That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

Matthew 19:9   And I  (Jesus) say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

* If a faithful wife is divorced by her husband, she will commit adultery if she remarries. (Mt. 5:32)

* The husband who divorced the faithful wife will be the cause of her adultery if she remarries.  (Mt. 5:32)

* The man who divorces a faithful wife and marries another woman commits adultery.  (Mt. 5:19)

*  The man who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.  (Mt. 5:32 & Mt. 19:9)

Mark 10   6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.  7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;  8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. 9  What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

11-12   And HE (Jesus) saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.  And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

Several years ago, a woman contacted me wanting to talk to me about her mother's second marriage.  God said to me:  "Don't focus on the circumstances of the second marriage.  Just focus on that which the Bible says."

Concerning homosexuals & lesbians:

Romans 1

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

When they say they were just born that way, here is what the Spirit of God says:

Concerning money:

I Timothy 6

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Walk in the Spirit:

Romans 8:

1  There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The flesh will desire to do the works of the flesh which are:  Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  (Galatians 5:19-21)

Galatians 5:16   This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

The Spirit of God lives in us
and HE will reminds us of ways to go when we are tempted.  If we walk in the Spirit, we follow what HE says.  If we turn from HIS instructions and follow the desire of our own flesh, we place ourselves in danger of being turned over to a reprobate mind by God.

We crucify our flesh by walking in the way of the Spirit.  Our flesh will suffer when it does not get its way but our soul is spared when we choose to go in the way of the Spirit.

Romans 8

5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

11  But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, HE that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by HIS Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify (stop) the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

As we read the New Testament Bible, we know the will of God vs. the will of the flesh.

Also we are greatly helped by the Holy Spirit who reminds us of everything that is the will of God.  (I Corinthians 2)

At the judgment seat of Christ:

II Corinthians 5:10  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

We will be judged by the WORD of God at the judgment seat of Christ, whether or not our actions on this earth agree with that WORD.

The sins we commit before we are born again are paid for by the blood of Jesus.

But to continue willfully in sins after the knowledge of the truth is to crucify Jesus a second time which cannot be done.

Hebrews 10

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

II Peter 2

20  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.


So we exhort one another:  urge earnestly with advice and warning

It is an extremely bad situation after we have received the knowledge of the truth to turn from that truth and return to our previous way of life of sins of the flesh.

So we pray when tempted and we keep scriptures before us to help us to overcome.

Jesus says:

Revelation 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Matthew 24:12-13  Jesus says, concerning the last days:  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.   But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Mark 8:36   For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
