Flesh loves to praise other flesh. Often when we think of a human, that we admire and of all the things that person has accomplished, we are nearly swept away.
Then the Holy Spirit will say to me, concerning that person who has died, "But where is that person now?"
All that matters is: "Was that person a godly person?
If you want to give something to your children, give your children an example of a godly life in Christ Jesus.
This is the greatest gift you could ever give to your children.
There is a business which can trace your ancestry and often can tell you which country your relatives lived in before coming to America.
But all that matters to me about my ancestors is this: Were they godly people? Did they belong to God? Did they serve God?
This is the important thing for each of us.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
