* Persecution comes for the "Word's sake" to steal the Word from our hearts.

As soon as God speaks to our mind by HIS Spirit to give us an instruction, and we believe and go that way, the devil will likely come to try to make us doubt that it was really God speaking to us:  "Hath God said?"   The devil said to Eve.  (Gen.3)

Often circumstances of this life fight that direction God told us to go.

We must have full assurance that it was God who spoke these words to us.  And we must hold fast to that which God said to us in the matter at hand.

In this Podcast, I present examples of fighting the good fight of faith and recognizing God when HE speaks a word to us.

Jesus warns us:

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Mark 4   Jesus says:

14  The sower soweth the word.

15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;  17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

18  And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,  19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

20  And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

God speaks to us by HIS Spirit who brings to our mind a scripture or a concept to show us what to do.  We must do that instruction in spite of the objections brought to us by other people, often church goers.

We know the voice of God and we follow HIM, doing what HE tells us to do.

But persecution does come "for the Word's sake" to try to steal that Word given by God from our hearts.

Our foes will often be they of our own households, of our own church group.
