* Haven't we learned some things from the Coronavirus?

We should see how quickly things can change all over this world.

The Bible shows us that in the last days even a great city will be destroyed in one hour

 Revelation 18 ...  10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.  11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

The Bible also tells us not to trust in "uncertain riches" but in the living God.  (I Timothy 6)

And by the Bible, we will see the time men will cast both gold and silver into the streets as being worthless ... and they will try to hide themselves in caves because of the wrath of God that is coming upon this world.

And in Bible we are told we can use the things of this world but not abuse them.  I think many abuse credit to get things.  We need to learn to live within our means instead of glorifying ourselves in things of this world.

(On television, they showed, during the 2020 Coronavirus, long lines of cars waiting for food hand-outs.  As I looked, I was looking at the cars.  In those long lines, I never saw an old car.  All the cars were new and shiny.  If they are poor people in those new cars, they are poor because they over spent in getting things of this world before hitting the crisis of today.)

This 2020 virus was likely a surprise to see, but we who know Bible, were probably not caught totally unaware, because we see in the scriptures many things that will be coming upon this earth in the last days.

And because of Bible, we do not live in those lusts of this world as does this world.  God prepares us by that way HE teaches us to live by the scriptures which keep us from the lusts of the world which would destroy us.

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

When we are led by the Spirit of God and follow HIM, we are not going to be living as this world lives today.  Therefore our way of life, which God shows us, puts us into a position for the storms of life which God brings upon the lustful people of this world.

I John 2

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

I Timothy 6

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith.

James 1:5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Colossians 3

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with Him in glory.

5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:

7 In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;

10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him that created him:

Matthew 6

19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

II Thessalonians 3:10  For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

Philippians 4

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

13 I can do all things through Christ (the WORD) which strengtheneth me.

19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
