* How do you know when you are called to be a minister?

It is not just a desire that shows us we are to be a minister to the church.  We must be called and ordained by Jesus.

Ephesians 4:8:11-12   Wherefore HE saith, When HE ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men ... And HE gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;   For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

And when Jesus puts a person into these ministry offices of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher, Jesus gives that minister the spiritual gifts to use in that specific office and the church recognizes "the hand of God" is upon that person when that person presents the spiritual gifts given to him by God.

Only Jesus can give those spiritual gifts.

Many come saying they are ministers but they do not show the gifts from God.  They just speak to us great swelling words which mean nothing.

Those ministers of God have an anointing by God and there is power of God in that anointing to cause us to move in the direction of the will of God in our lives on this earth.

The apostle Paul says:

I Corinthians 2:4-5  And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:  That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I've often had people say to me, "God spoke to me when I heard that message."

Many ministers today come saying many words but they appeal to the emotions of fleshly men and those men think those ministers to be great ... but it is all emotion and flesh.

A real minister of Jesus is confirmed to real Christians in the Spirit ... Spirit to Spirit.

II Corinthians 3:5-6   Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;   Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.

But many in Churches today do not have the Holy Spirit in them, though they think themselves to be Christians and even think themselves to be ministers.

Jude

16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.

17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Romans 8:14  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

They come saying all the great works they are doing or are planning to do ... build orphanages, care for the elderly, build schools and such ... but I never hear them give evidence that it was God who told them to do these works and they just come asking me to give money to them for "their" works which I do not believe to be authored by God for they show me no evidence of God telling them to do that work.

Jesus warned us about those who would come and deceive the church in the last days:

Matthew 24

3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Deceivers will be rampant in the last days in both the ministries and in the congregations.

II Peter 2   (Peter warns)

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

(Though they say, "Jesus is Lord", their actions deny the word which is Jesus.)

2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

(They approve many things which are not approved by New Testament Bible, such as divorced women remarrying.)

3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
13 Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;

17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
