* Dealing with destructive thoughts.

 Destructive thoughts come to our minds to turn us from that which God has shown us and to pull us down in this life.  These thoughts are often from devils.

Therefore the apostle Peter says:

I Peter 5:8-9   Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:  Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

We must turn to God in prayer with these destructive thoughts and let God help us.

II Cor. 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

And the apostle Peter says:

I Peter 1:13-15  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;  As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:  But as HE which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

Thoughts brought to our minds from devils are exactly opposite to the truth and they can destroy us unless we turn to God for HIS help.

John 8:33  Jesus said this concerning the devil.

He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

It is very important for us to take each destructive thought captive and bring that thought into the obedience of Christ, The Word, calling on God when we are troubled.

Phil. 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

We must be diligent to pray over every concern, letting our "requests" be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  (Phil. 4:7)

Dealing in spiritual ways with destructive thoughts is very important and needed as long as God chooses to leave us on this present earth.
