* Getting out of debt & staying out of debt

One of the first things God showed me to do as a new Christian, was to get out of debt and stay out of debt.  On this Podcast I share with you some things God did with me to help me to get free.  Also shared are scriptures for a foundation on this subject.

(Some of the following scriptures were not presented on today's Podcast, but they are good for us to think upon.)

II Corinthians 6:14-18    Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Romans 13:8   Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

***

Jesus says:

Matthew 6:24     No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

***

Proverbs 15:27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

I Timothy 6:3-12   If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

(If any person around you thinks "gain" is a sign of godliness, withdraw yourselve from him, for some of the richest men got their riches by ungodly methods, and many ministers got their money by pressuring their congregations and by making them feel guilty if they didn't give to them.)

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich
(try to get more money) fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Paul tells Timothy, the evangelist:

I Timothy 6:17-19    Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Extortioners:

I Corinthians 5:11;13   But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat ...Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

There is however a righteous way to success and prosperity.

Psalm 37:4   Delight thyself also in the Lord: and HE shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

***

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

(Follow God one scripture and one word from God at a time, focused on that instruction, doing that instruction, continuing to do that instruction ... making it a part of your life.)

***

I Corinthians 2:14   But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

***

John 8:31-32    Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on Him, If ye continue in MY word, then are ye MY disciples indeed;  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

***

Joshua 1:7-9    Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

(We don't do the Law of Moses, but we do follow the rules of the New Testament Bible.  Also many of the promises of God from the Old Testament are valid for us in the NT church, such as:  Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.)

***

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law (NT Bible) shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9 Have not I commanded thee? (says God)

(Did God lead you to do what you are doing?  Examine your actions by this for if God told us to do something, we have a very strong anchor to go forward and to keep doing that action.)

Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

(After God tells us to do something, humans and devils, will often try to lead us opposite way.)

***

Psalm 1:1-3   Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in HIS law doth he meditate day and night.

(Meditate in that "Word" which you believe God has spoken to you.  To meditate on that word, keeping that word before you, often gives you the strength of do that word.  Also meditate in that scripture when you feel an attention drawn to you toward a specific scripture.)

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

***

James 1:5   If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

***

Proverbs 3:5-7   Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge HIM, and HE shall direct thy paths.

(Pray over everything and then allow God to lead you.)

7 Be not wise in thine own eyes:  fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

***

Proverbs 16:25    There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

***

Hebrews 13:5-6  Let your conversation (manner of life) be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for HE hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Sometimes we can have the word from God planted in our heart but we might be thinking of doing that word in the wrong way.

* In 2020, a desire came into my heart to go back on radio to exhort the church.  I prayed.  Negative thoughts from devil began coming to me.  Then God said one word, setting my way straight.  "Podcast"  I had the will of God in my heart, but my thinking of how to do this was faulty.  Radio is very expensive.  Podcasts cost almost nothing.  Radio broadcasts are a one time shot.  Podcasts are a broadcast library of information from God to the church.  The way to go was "Podcasts."

Pray for wisdom concerning how to do that which you believe God has told you to do.
