* The Holy Spirit never makes us do anything.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, the comforter.  The Holy Spirit never makes us do anything.  The Holy Spirit does not take over our bodies in any way.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus and HE teaches us all things, reminds us of that which Jesus has said, guides us into all truth, and shows us things to come.  ( Jn. 14:26 & Jn. 16:13)

I Thessalonians 5:19   Quench not the Spirit.

We quench the Spirit by keeping what he says back, and by failing to speak, but the Holy Spirit never forces us to speak.

Concerning the Holy Spirit:

Jesus says:

John 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

John 16:13  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear (from God), that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Angels can be very strong and forceful, but the Holy Spirit simply presents information to our mind.

In Genesis 19, there is an example of angels as they took the hand of Lot and his wife and daughters and removed them from the city.

Genesis 19:15-16   And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.

16 And while he (Lot) lingered, the men (the angels) laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city.

Angels are very strong and often take strong actions.

But the Holy Spirit simply brings information from God to our minds.

I Corinthians 14:40   Let all things be done decently and in order.

I Corinthians 14:34-35     Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.

(In the next verse, look at what these women were doing ... they were asking questions.)

35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

God showed me a scripture about the 4 daughters of Philip the evangelist.  They did prophesy.  Prophesy is for the church.  They would have to be permitted in the church to speak in order to present prophesy.  I believe the women described by the apostle Paul, in I Corinthians 14, were interrupting the church gathering by asking questions to draw attention to themselves and to take over the gathering.

Acts 21:8-9   we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

Spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit:

I Corinthians 12:4-11   Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE (God) will.
