* Exhort one another and even more as we see the day of the Lord approaching.

To exhort means:  to urge earnestly by advise or warning.

Hebrews 3:12-14   Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.  But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Jesus said many would have their love (of God) wax cold in the end times, because iniquity would abound in the last days.  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  (Mt. 24:12-13)

Your name can be blotted out of the book of life, says Jesus.  (Rev. 3:5)

We must overcome by choosing the way of God rather than the way of the flesh.  And we must do this until Jesus returns or until our last breath on this earth.  Enduring.

Hebrews 10

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for HE is faithful that promised;)

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves (those who have the Spirit of God) together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

***

Each of us exhort one another by the Spirit of God.  But some of us also have the spiritual gift of exhortation whereby we urge one another earnestly in the way of God by advise and warning.

Romans 12:6-8    Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;  Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;  Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

For the end times will be filled with iniquity and many will fall away from the scriptures before Jesus returns.

Therefore we warn the church about these things of the last days.

So many church people are asleep, thinking they are completely safe and thinking they cannot be swept away.

The apostle Paul warned us of the "perilous times" of the last days.

II Timothy 3

1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Before Jesus returns the apostasy will come into the churches and churches will fall away from scriptures.

II Thessalonians 2:3-4   Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (of the Lord) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

(In 1982, God said to me:  It is not that people would leave churches but rather the churches will fall away from the scriptures which allows antichrist to come into the church groups.)

NASB calls this "the apostasy".

Antichrist was in the church groups even in the days of John.

I John 2:18-19   Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Paul told the elders at Ephesus that he knew that after his departing men would teach perverse things to draw away disciples after themselves.

Acts 20

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

Since the time of the New Testament churches, men have been setting up church groups by their own thinking, moving away from specific scripture that offend people.

But this apostasy even grows stronger today as we approach the return of Jesus when HE will remove the elect of God who have followed the Spirit of God, upholding the Word of God.

Thus Jesus warns:

Matthew 24:4-5   Take heed that no man deceive you.  For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
