Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
We, who belong to God, must take the situation to God in prayer, in a desire to know the truth from God's view point.
As we search for the truth, we begin that search with prayer to God.
One of the great problems of the time in which we now live is the problem of "delusion."
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
In their rebellion, people will think themselves to be right. They may even think they are doing a good thing in their acts when they are doing evil.
Deception can come to us from our own desires.
Deception can come from devils.
But the really deadly thing is when delusion is from God.
Here is an example of God sending a strong delusion to cause people to believe a lie that they might be damned.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
We must love the truth. We must consider the truth to be important.
(I've met people who didn't think truth to be important, and I've seen one of those people swept away from the people of God because of this.)
Truth is critical in both secular and spiritual matters.
We must have in us a love of the truth for the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth.
