* II Corinthians 5: Making the time count between now and the time we are removed from this earth.

II Corinthians 5

9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of Him.

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men;

It is not simply a matter of saying, "Jesus is Lord",  as some think.

Even the devil believes there is one God and trembles.  James 2:19

We will be judged by that which we have done,  whether it be good or bad.

We must diligently live the scriptures, doing that which is instructed in the specific verses.

***

I encourage us to make the following a priority for each day of our lives until we are removed from this earth, for doing this scripture allows us to live in peace on this earth, and it also connects us to God in a way that nothing else that I know of can do.

Philippians 4

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

After we do the above scripture, God gives us the following promise as a result of doing this:

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Some people who say they are Christians just fret and complain when things go wrong or when things don't go to suit them.

This is "murmuring".

God was very displeased with the children of Israel in the wilderness because they were always complaining and trying to turn back to Egypt from which God had delivered them.

We do not want to be like them.  They are our example so we would not do these things.

I Corinthians 10

11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Instead let us learn to talk with God about that which displeases usGet God to help us with all our problems.  Sometimes God will even change our minds so we no longer notice that troubling thing.

And we must keep ourselves from looking backward:

Paul says:

Philippians 3

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded:

God will always help us when we call on HIM.

And prayer keeps us connected to God in a special way!
