* Some people think they need to forgive when what they really need to do is depart from that troublesome church person.

If we put ourselves with church people who will not follow scripture, they will greatly vex us with their words and deeds.  You are constantly forgiving these persons.

But according to scripture, what you should do is leave them alone and do not hear what they say when they will not follow the doctrines of Christ and they go another way.

II John

8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

9  Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

10  If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Examples:

*****

* Woman who wanted me to help prove her dad's doctrine wrong:

*  Man who wanted to tell me of his "ministry".

* Church of Christ cousin:

*  Catholic woman who continued to call men "FATHER" :

*  Woman who could not get facts straight and told stories which were not true and couldn't sort through what she had said and twisted messages from God.

*  Woman who thought she needed teaching on forgiveness, when actually she needed to do Philippians 4:6 diligently, daily.

Titus 3

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

After we have admonished him by godly scripture, one or two times, and have seen him fail to put his life under the instruction given by scripture, we must not try to instruct him further and we must depart from him.  Often such a person will try to make us into a "god" by telling us his concerns, rather than turning to God with his problems.

Some church people want to tell their troubles to the church instead of turning to God in faith and "casting" their cares upon God.

(Their faith is in humans at church rather than in God.)

In such cases, they make us into their "god" by telling us their concerns.

They fail to do this scripture:

I Peter 5

6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that HE may exalt you in due time:

7  Casting all your care upon HIM; for HE careth for you.

Philippians 4

6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
