* Be not deceived. Evil communications corrupt good manners. (I Cor. 15:33)

I Corinthians 15:33-34 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.  Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God:

I'm very careful to review ways of God after I hear a person speak contrary to the Bible.  Often on TV concepts are presented that are opposite to the ways of God.  And when we visit with people, they often say things which we know to be in variance to the Word of God.

What I try to do is this:

Romans 12:2   And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

Contrary words can go into our hearts and end up leading us in another way unless we uproot that which the world speaks by reviewing that which the Bible says.

Their words eat as doth a canker (cancer) ...

Later we will find ourselves speaking things that shock us unless we uproot the words spoken by the world.

Jesus says:

Matthew 12

33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
