* Reverend? No man in Bible is called Reverend.

Jesus never called Himself "Reverend".  Paul never called himself "Reverend". Peter never called himself "Reverend".  John never called himself "Reverend."  How can ministers today dare to call themselves "Reverend" when no human in the New Testament called themselves "Reverend?"  Bible says "Holy and reverend is God's name."  We should not call any human "Reverend."

Does anyone have a word from the Lord?  Door is opened for the gifts of the Holy Spirit

I Corinthians 12

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as HE (God) will.

Bible calls ministers: apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher

Ephesians 4:8;11-12   When HE (Jesus) ascended up on high, HE led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men ...  And HE (Jesus) gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ;

In Bible ministers are never called:  pope, archbiship, cardinal, priests, or "Reverend".

Also there is no such thing in the Bible as "minister of music".

In Bible, the apostle Paul identified himself to church as "an apostle" so the church could know to expect him to do the work of apostle.  He also identified himself as a "teacher".

In Bible, Peter identified himself as "apostle" and elder.

In Bible, we read of NT prophets, Agabus and Silas.

When we see "prophet" we know to expect that person to deliver messages of correction and warnings from God.

The office of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher allows us to know what work we can expect to see from that person who has been put by Jesus into the church for the work of the ministry.

Did Paul ever call himself "apostle"?

Romans 1:1    Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

I Corinthians 1:1  Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

II Corinthians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

Philippians 2

3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory;

---

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

7 But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

8 And being found in fashion as a man, HE humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name:

10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Matthew 23

1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

2 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

There are no holy garments to be worn in the New Testament church as displayed by the New Testament Bible:  no collars, no hats, no robes, no scarves

The Spirit of God in the minister identifies that minister by his speaking and his actions, as to whether or not he is a minister.
