The apostle Peter tells us 3 things we need to do to be ready for the return of Jesus. Peter says, "Be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless."
In the midst of all the problems of this world today, be found by Jesus "in peace". There is a way to keep ourselves in a state of peace even when there are multiple problems daily.
Being "without spot" and "blameless" requires a diligence in following the scriptures daily as the Spirit of God calls our attention to those scripture and also we can't be without spot while we associate in various corruptions, such as corruptions at church where doctrines have been changed from the specific scriptures.
At the judgment seat of Christ, it is The Word who judges us. We can't "fall away" from the doctrines set by The Word and be without spot and blameless.

The apostle Peter says:
II Peter 3
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to HIS promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of HIM in peace, without spot, and blameless.

*In peace:
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Praying according to the will of God.
I John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in HIM, that, if we ask any thing according to HIS will, HE heareth us:
15 And if we know that HE hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of HIM.

Some of the elect will be left on the earth during the great tribulation.
Jesus says:
Matthew 24:21-22 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
So I know some of the elect will be on this earth during the great tribulation.

Matthew 6
31 Take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

These scriptures keep me doing the work of God:
Hebrews 3
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Hebrews 10
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Luke 21 ... Jesus says:
34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting (over indulgence), and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
* Watch yourself: avoid getting over tired where you can't focus properly. Watch what you are about to get involved in. Be sensitive to taking on offences, instead pray and settle the issue in prayer with God. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath. If your peace and joy is disturbed, pray and let God help you immediately.
* Prayer connects us to God and causes us to "be worthy" to escape. We make prayer a way of life each day we live on this earth. Sometimes we get too busy to remember to pray. We get caught up in what we are doing on this earth. "Surfeiting" (over indulgence). Beware! Nothing is more important than God and protecting our life with God.
